The holiday season is often described as “the most wonderful time of the year,” but it can also feel like the busiest. Between shopping, decorating, and attending events, it’s easy to get caught up in the hustle and lose sight of what truly matters—spending quality time with loved ones.

For children, the holidays are less about perfectly wrapped presents and more about the magic of shared experiences. Baking cookies, reading holiday stories, or enjoying a family movie night can leave lasting memories that no store-bought gift can replace.

To make the most of this season, try simplifying your holiday to-do list. Instead of aiming for perfection, focus on connection. Prioritize activities that bring joy and togetherness over those that add stress. Encourage your children to participate in planning simple traditions, like crafting ornaments or playing a favorite board game.

Here at RCP we prioritize the value of family time. Throughout the year the staff work hard to help the families in our program create memories through our family engagement events from the Thanksgiving Feast to the Movie and Cookie Decorating party, we love to create moments to see our families laughing and enjoying themselves together.

As Robbins Children’s Programs supports its program’s families in making memories together we also make it a priority to support our staff’s family having those opportunities as well. Robbins Children’s Programs will be closed from Monday December 23rd through Wednesday January 1st, reopening on Thursday January 2nd. This closure time allows our hardworking staff to spend time with their family and loved ones. As we make time for our staff to spend some time connecting with loved ones and recharging during this break, we know that they come back refreshed and recharged, ready to bring their best to the children in their care. We hope that you are able to use this time to connect with your own families.

By slowing down and embracing meaningful family time, you can turn the holidays into a season of joy, not just for your little ones but for yourself too. After all, the best gift you can give this year is your presence.

Happy Holidays from Robbins Children’s Programs!
